The Sims is a videogame series created by Will Wright, who also co-founded Maxis. The Sims legacy started back in 1989 with the release of SimCity, but his real rise to success was with the release of The Sims, a life simulation video game. Unlike SimCity, The Sims focuses on individual lives of characters the player makes and not on building a city. The game was a major success selling 11.3 million copies by March 22, 2002. They decided to release Sims 2 in 2004, which had the same concept as its predecessor. It included extra maps and more interractions with other sims. But Maxis didn't stop there, because in 2009 Sims 3 was released not only for computers, but for Windows Phone and Nintendo 3DS as well. It sold 1.4 million copies in the first week, keeping the Sims series at the top of the list of best selling games of all time. On September 4, 2014, Sims 4 was released, and it seems promising so far.
