Battlefield 2 (Called BF2 by most players) is a First Person Shooter (FPS), developed by DICE and published by EA Games. Battlefield 2 is the third game in the Battlefield series, first released on June, 21, 2005. The newest version, version 1.5, which was released on September 1, 2009 and gave the Euro Forces and Armored Fury booster pack for free, as well as the newest Highway Tampa and Operation Blue Pearl.

BF2 is a first person shooter with some strategy and RPG elements involved. The singleplayer version of the game pits you against a team of Computer Controlled characters. The multiplayer version, however pits the player against other player, with up to 31 other player on his/her team and up to 32 player on the other team. The multiplayer aspect of the game allows players to organize into squads that come under the leadership of a single commander to promote teamwork.

As players progress through the multiplayer portion of the game they gain Ranks, which allow them to unlock new weapons. When you first enter multipayer you will start out as a Private, and can make your way all the way to a Lieutenant General (commonly referred to as a 3 star). Alternately players can try to reach the rank of General (4 star) which is awarded to the player with the most points for the month, but due to Hackers and Stat Padders it is no longer awarded.
