Battle of the Bands
SMHS will be hosting their 4th annual Battle of the Bands in the auditorium. It will be held Saturday, February 4th. First eliminiation round begins at 6 P.M. and the second elimination round begins at 7:30 P.M. General Admission cost is $5. |

United States Senate Youth Program
The United States Senate Youth Program provides an amazing opportunity for qualifying youth. Not only will the selected youth spend the week of March 3-10, 2012 in Washington D.C. The student delegates will be immersed in Washington activities throughout the week. All expenses will be covered by the William Randolph Hearst Foundation.
In addition, each student accepted will receive a $5000 scholarship award. |

Teacher Spotlight

Joe Goss
SMHS Teacher of the Year
2011-2012
Mr. Joe Goss has been a resident of Cumberland County for 37 years. Mr. Goss graduated from Cumberland County High School in 1993 and attended Roane State and Tennessee Tech University.
Mr. Goss started teaching and coaching football at CCHS in 2003 and moved to Stone Memorial High School in 2006 where he coached football for 3 years. Now, Mr. Goss focuses primarily on teaching and his family.
Mr. Goss is married to the lovely Andrea Goss, who is employed at Cumberland Medical Center. They have a 6-year old son, Joseph, who attends North Cumberland Elementary School.
